The Paddle & Ball: Simple, but Effective

Pickleball is played with a paddle that looks like a large ping-pong paddle, and a ball thats similar to a wiffle ball (those balls with holes). You hit the ball over the net, trying to make it land on your opponents side without them returning it.

3. Serving the Ball

The game starts with a serve.

The ball must be hit underhand and contact with the ball on your paddle must be made below the servers waist.

You stand behind the baseline (the back line) and serve diagonally to the other side.

If youre playing doubles each player gets a turn to serve. In singles each player only gets to serve once.

Servers rotate between the first and second server when the receiving team wins a rally. After the serving team loses two rallies, then the receiving team gets their turn to serve. In singles once the server loses on rally then the receiver gets their turn.
